Jaipur : Tension gripped a village in Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan after a year-old boy, who belonged to a minority community, was allegedly sodomised and killed by a man here on Thursday night. He allegedly sodomised the child and then strangled him to death, possibly to keep the sexual assault under the wraps. As the news spread, an irate mob, comprising local residents and people from neighbouring villages, gathered at the Phalsoond police station on Friday morning, demanding action against the accused, who was later taken into custody. The mob pelted stones at the cops and even headed to demolish a religious place in the area, prompting senior police officials to rush to the spot with heavy police force to bring the situation under control. Additional superintendent of police, Jaisalmer, Vipin Sharma, later arrived at the scene and persuaded the family members to accept the body. Following this, the body was sent for post-mortem examination and a case under sections murder and unnatural sex of the Indian Penal was registered against the accused.
